Much of the University’s history has been recorded on the pages of the University’s alumni magazines. The Trail, which was first published in 1920 and appeared more-or-less regularly before the Second World War, was the University’s first alumni publication. In 1942 it gave way to New Trail, which has now published for more than 60 years. Together, these publications are a rich archive of the history of the University of Alberta, and they serve as the primary source for this website.
