Jones, John Thomas
English scholar
1898-1986

Professor Jones completed his honours BA in English (1921) at
the University of Alberta, and became a rural teacher, 1920-1922, 
then professor in the Department of English, 1928-1953.  He 
became head of the Department (1953-1961), retiring in 1964.
During World War II he served in the army.  His favorite poet was
John Milton, in whose writings he gave courses at the senior and
graduate levels.
