Porteous, John Wardlaw
Engineer
1907-1968

An alumnus of the University, "Ward" Porteous returned to the
campus in 1930 as an instructor in electrical engineering.  He
became a full professor in 1955.  He was a co-founder of the
campus radio station, CKUA; between 1939 and 1940 he designed
and installed the station's transmission expansion facilities.
