Disability, Parenting and the Rights of the Child

The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (2004) affirms the right of persons with disabilities to marry and found a family. Yet concerns are often raised about the capacity of persons with disabilities, particularly persons with intellectual disabilities, to raise a child. What about the rights of the child? This presentation tackles the 'parents vs. children's rights' debate.
