The University of Alberta is the best university in Canada for its department of Chemical Engineering and we are proud to be part of it.
The Chemical Engineering Students' Society (ChESS) is a student club for all undergraduate chemical engineers at the U of A. Traditional and Co-op students in Chemical Engineering (Computer Process Control, Oil Sands and Biomedical streams) are members of ChESS.
At ChESS, we believe in working as a team with our fellow ChemEs to make the most out of our undergraduate university experience, to stay united through thick and thin, and get the best results as well.
The core chemical engineering subject areas include: material and energy balences, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, separation processes, chemical reactor analysis and computer process control. These areas require a solid foundation of mathematics, physics, and chemistry. In these courses you will learn about the principles required for the design and analysis of processes.
