Biography
Markus Alexander, MA, REAT, CAGS, PhD Candidate is an innovator in the field of Expressive Arts Therapy. Since 1985, beginning in New York, he has paved the way for a new approach to arts and healing, using dance, theatre, painting, music and poetry in a profoundly contemplative way. Now living in Alberta, Canada, he is the director of World Arts Organization (www.worldartsorg.net). He has conducted workshops in Malta, Norway and New York as well as throughout North America. He is currently senior faculty at the European Graduate School in Switzerland. Markus’ current focus is expressive arts training and consulting for conflict transformation and peace building. “That which nurtures, heals. The arts lead us into realms of profound nurture.” Markus has been associate faculty at St. Stephen’s College since 2008.
