Biography
Sandra Jack-Malik grew up on the shore of Lake Ontario where she learned to respect land and water and all the spaces in between. She began her teaching career in the inner city of what was then North York, Ontario. She pursued a master's degree in the area of Curriculum Studies, English as a subsequent language. She went on to own and operate a literacy clinic where she worked with students struggling to read, write, spell and comprehend written texts. She attended the University of Alberta to study her PhD in the area of curriculum studies; she was supervised by D.J. Clandinin. As a Metis woman living and working as a vice principal for the Frontier School Division in northern Manitoba she appreciates complexity.
