This legal handbook for volunteer organizations and workers explains the legal status of a volunteer, volunteer accountability and liability, insurance issues, volunteer rights, and guidelines for managers of volunteer services. This book is well written in easy to understand terms for individuals without a legal background.

The Public Legal Education Society. Volunteers and the Law. Vancouver: People’s Law School Press. 1988.

This book explains legal liability of volunteers, protection against liability, the legal status of the volunteer, the standard of care, and the liability of the organization for its volunteers. This book is well written and presented in an easy-to-use format.
