EXCAVATIO XXV (Summer 2015)
Excavatio: International Review for Multidisciplinary Approaches and Comparative Studies Related to Emile Zola and Naturalism Around the World is the official publication of the Association internationale Zola et Naturalisme (AIZEN)
With 23 volumes already in print and available in university libraries and other collections in North America, Asia, and Europe, Excavatio has turned web-based, featuring 10-15 articles in each volume. This scholarly-refereed free access journal appears semi-annually.
The second web-based volume, no. XXV, will appear in the Summer of 2015 and will feature scholarly articles on Urban versus Rural in Zolian and/or Naturalist Texts − in literary works, history, the arts, film and other media, such as photography and television. Submissions could deal with topics such as neo-naturalism, regionalism, feminism, racism, Darwinism, or the representation of the body.
In order to submit a paper for consideration, you must be a current member of the AIZEN. Presenters at the joint AIZEN/University of New Orleans International Conference are also invited to submit a revised version of their paper, lengthened and documented according to our guidelines, with complete bibliographic information appearing in a first footnote and subsequent references in a shortened form.
For details about the format, please consult the section “Guidelines” on the AIZEN/EXCAVATIO web site: http://www.ualberta.ca/~aizen/excavatio/index.html
All papers will be submitted to a peer-review and editorial process.
Submissions, with a length of 5,000 to 6,000 words in either English or French, should be sent as attachments in Microsoft Word, along with an abstract of 100-200 words, a short curriculum vitae, and brief biographical sketch to the Editor (firstname.lastname@example.org): by midnight on December 31, 2014.
