ABORIGINAL LAW SPEAKERS SERIES Every February or March ALSA hosts this week long event. A different guest speaker gives a presentation each day throughout the week. In the past, speakers have included lawyers practicing Aboriginal law, government representatives, and academics.

INDIGENOUS BAR ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE TEach year, we try to send as many students as possible to the October Conference. This year, Koren Lightning-Earle attended, and will be discussing the conference at the next General Meeting of ALSA.

KAWASHIMON ABORIGINAL MOOT Those interested in observing or supporting this exciting and important moot should contact Adam Letourneau (ALSA President) or Val Napoleon (Interim Indigenous Law Program Director) for further information. The moot occurs on March 4 and 5 this year in Saskatoon. Participants this year are Sierra Grinnel, Robyn Mitchell and Shaun Eden. Stay tuned.

UNIVERSITY OF ALBERTA GRADUATION POW WOW Plans are being made by a Steering Committee for a Pow Wow in the spring for all Aboriginal Graduates of the University of Alberta. The Faculty of Law will potentially have 6-7 graduates this year. Stay tuned for more information.

GENERAL MEETINGS Periodically, ALSA holds a general meeting to discuss goings on and get input on various matters from the membership. Notification of these meetings is forwarded to all law students via the electronic Law bulletin board.
