flying and other fund raising projects.

Special Commission Ballooning

This is an image of a 14" x 21" limited edition (300) print
the club is selling as a fund raiser.
The original is by a well known Western Canadian artist, Peter Shostak.
Now on sale for a special price.
Balloon Post covers
The Edmonton Balloon Club, in a salute to the Province of Alberta, carried Balloon Post
on two ceremonial flights.
Flight number one launched from Laurier Park in Edmonton on August 27th, 1980 and
carried 3,000 First Day Covers bearing the Province of Alberta's 75th Anniversary
Commemorative Stamp.
Flight number two launched from the same location on September 1st, 1980. On
board were 3,000 Commemorative Covers marking the official date of Alberta's entry into
Confederation.
Canada Post participated in both events by providing a special cancellation designed
for these hot air balloon flights.
