2012 Computer Poker Travel Grants

We are pleased to announce the Computer Poker Travel Grants for AAAI 2012, which are sponsored by Steve Kuhn of Pine River Capital.

These travel grants are available to anyone associated with or interested in research in Computer Poker or other games of imperfect information. The grants will cover airfare, hotel, and conference registration at AAAI 2012 in Toronto. Applicants are strongly encouraged to concurrently submit papers to the 2012 Computer Poker Symposium and are required to register for and attend the symposium.

Anyone is eligible to apply for a travel grant. In the event that there are more applicants than grants available, decisions will be made by considering the following criteria:

  • Has the applicant submitted a paper to the 2012 Computer Poker Symposium?
  • Has the applicant or the applicant's research group participated in previous Annual Computer Poker Competitions?
  • Is the applicant competing in the 2012 Annual Computer Poker Competition?
  • Has the applicant not had the opportunity to attend AAAI in the past?
  • What is the applicant's affiliation? Given enough applicants there will be no more than one travel grant awarded to each institution/research group.
  • Does the applicant's have interest/past work on research problems related to Computer Poker and games of imperfect information?

Applicants should fill out and submit the application form.

The deadline for application is May 31, 2012.

After the conference, an expense report will be required to account for the funds awarded and to receive reimbursement.
