The Church of the SubGenius is a moderately successful parody religion reportedly founded in 1953. It promotes J.R. "Bob" Dobbs as the main figurehead, with a characteristic smiling, pipe-smoking faceas an image. The religion promotes above all else the idea of "slack"The church offers to ordain anyone as a minister for $30 USD. The Linux distribution Slackware was named after the pursuit of slack.
