The images below were shot in Iqaluit during the first phase of my PhD fieldwork in October 2009. I wish to thank everyone who helped me in one way or another in preparation and during the visit, whether it was to help with research, or to be a friend, or about how to best navigate the rather concentric Iqaluit. In this regard, some of my favourite -- at times verging on scary -- experiences were in Iqaluit’s famous taxi-cabs; I found that taking a cab was much quicker than walking, and the conversations were much more lively than inner dialogue...

Please email me if you wish to use any of these images for whatever purposes - I’m glad to share, but please do cite me if you find use for the images. I’d also be interested in your comments and suggestions about the website or the project writ large about Nunavut ‘growing up’.
