Sahar Salimi joined the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering in the University of Alberta in Sep 2008. Sahar is a full-time graduate student in the Masters of Science degree and is doing a thesis as part of her program.
She earned her Bachelor of Science from Isfahan University of Technology, Iran in January 2007. She was interested in Ceramics and did her B.Sc. thesis on "Study of sintering derived forsterite from microsilica and magnesia". Then she moved to University of Alberta to do her master's. During her studies, she became more interested in composites and is now working on "Fabricating Aluminum/Carbon Nanotubes composites", under the supervision of Dr. Adrian Gerlich.
Sahar Enjoys riding bicycles and hiking. She is also a member of University of Alberta dragon boating team. They won a silver metal at summer 2009 dragon boating festival, in Edmonton division.
