Hossein Izadi
Hossein earned his BSc and MSc in Materials Science and Engineering from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad in Mashhad-Iran. He joined the department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at University of Alberta as a Graduate Student in September 2009. During his previous studies he has worked on composite materials fabrication and properties, synthesis of carbon nanotubes and mechanical properties of materials. Currently he is investigating "Metal Matrix Composites Fabrication by Friction Stir Welding" under supervision of Dr Adrian Gerlich. His research interests include: friction stir welding/processing, high strength steels welding, joining of dissimilar materials, mechanical properties of materials, plastic behavior of al alloys under high strain rates, composite materials and behavior of CNTs under different loading conditions.
In his spare time, Hossein enjoys hiking, swimming, reading, solving Sudoku and being with family and friends.
