Philanthropy

Before Ceres Alberta was an official chapter the members decided to dedicate much of our philanthropy efforts towards breast cancer research and support. Since 2006 the Chapter has annually participated in the CIBC Run for the Cure consisting of a 5km run or walk. It is an incredible experience to be among thousands of participants, all of whom have been touched by breast cancer in some way.

Along with the Run, Ceres volunteers at Fashion with Compassion, a New York style fashion show held every October at the Shaw Conference centre in support of Sorrentino's Compassion House. Compassion House provides women undergoing cancer treatment in Edmonton with affordable living and a support network that is unequalled.

Ceres also encourages its members to donate blood on a regular basis. We realize that this is a special gift that we have the privilege to offer.
