Formal Recruitment

There are four Panhellenic Women’s Fraternities on the University of Alberta campus, each of which offers a chance for female students to participate in all aspects of student life. Each Women’s Fraternity has study programs, does charity work, and has social events. Women’s Fraternities are student run groups that offer diverse opportunities that you can't get anywhere else.

Formal Recruitment is a week long event designed to help women join a sorority. You will come to a classroom at the start of the evening and be taken around to the different houses in groups for themed, informative parties. You will have an opportunity to learn about Greek life by meeting fraternity women, touring houses, learning about philanthropies and asking LOTS of questions. These events offer a lot of information, are fun, and allow you to discover which Women’s Fraternity is right for you, should you choose to join one.

Formal Recruitment starts each day at 4:30 pm and lasts for approximately three hours. It doesn’t take up too much of your time, and we’ll feed you those days so you won’t have to worry about dinner!

For specific dates and times, and any questions, consult the Panhellenic Council website.
