About Me
I am an Associate Professor at the School of Library and Information Studies, University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. My research interests are in the area of knowledge management, open source software, management, digital libraries, community-focused research, and social media.
I did Ph.D. from the Graduate School of Library and Information Science (GSLIS) (now, the School of Information Sciences - The iSchool at Illinois) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Champaign, IL, USA. Along with Ph.D., I also did Masters in Finance from the Department of Finance at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Before joining Ph.D. program, I did a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (PGDBA) (which is equivalent to an MBA in India) from the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Mumbai, India with specialization in the area of Marketing and International Business. I did an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E.) from the Karnataka Regional Engineering College, Surathkal, Karnataka, India (now known as the National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal).
Prior to joining the doctoral degree program, I worked with the TATA International Limited, Mumbai, India and Kirloskar Electric Company, Bangalore, India post completion of the business administration degree and the engineering degree respectively.
