ECONOMIC INEQUALITY INDEX

Of all the discriminations that have been perpetrated against women, most have been bound up with the position of economic dependence in which they were traditionally kept. A major accomplishment of the last thirty years has been the recognition and amelioration of this injustice. As is true of nearly every other issue in society, however, this one is not all black and white. Especially today, many false and exaggerated claims of female economic disadvantage are being made, and facts about male economic disadvantage are being hidden. If justice is to be done, the truth must first be known. The purpose of this section is to make known information on this broad general subject which is often kept from the public. The general discussions (labels beginning with A) and individual accounts (labels beginning with B) below are meant to reveal the problem graphically in hopes of spurring all the needed reforms.
