Music

I am an active chamber music and opera performer. I was trained at the University of Alberta, the University of British Columbia, the Victoria Conservatory of Music, and Kwantlen Polytechnic University. My roles include Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte, Dr. Bartolo in Le Nozze di Figaro, Simone and Le Notaio in Gianni Schichi, Grandpa Moss in The Tender Land, and Matt of the Mint in The Beggar's Opera. I've sung scenes from Der Entferung Aus Dem Serail, Aemilia Goes to the Ball, Cosi Fan Tutte, Don Giovanni, and Amahl and the Night Visitors.

As a vocalist (basso), I have performed with numerous Choirs, including Edmonton's Da Camera, the University of Alberta Concert Choir, and I Choristi. From the Vancouver and Victoria areas I have performed with the Camosun Chorus, Vancouver Chamber Choir, and Kwantlen Chorus. I have studied under Deborah Millar, Alan Ord, Karen Smith, Dale Throness, and Sophia Alexandrova, as well as participated in masterclasses with Heidi Klassen, Alan Monk, Selena James, Benjamin Butterfield, Rebecca Hass, and many other distinguished teachers.

On recorders, I have performed in a number of chamber music concerts in Western Canada. I studied under Peter Hannan in Vancouver, and have since worked nearly exclusively on chamber music, with occasional concerts with choirs or small orchestras.
