  1. Magnetic and electrical transport measurements:
    1. SQUID magnetometer (Quantum Design) (T = 2 K - 400 K, H = 0 - 6 Tesla) equipped with longitudinal and transverse SQUIDs;
    2. Magnetic induction measurement system: equipped with x-y-z axes scanning Hall sensors to measure radial and axial components of a magnetic induction: Bz(r,z) and Br(r,z) over a temperature range of 10 K - 300K, and in magnetic fields up to 2kG;
    3. Magneto-transport measurement system: as a function of temperature (over a temperature range of 3 K - 300 K), electric field, magnetic field (up to 1 Tesla), and an angle between the sample and applied magnetic field (the angular resolution < 0.03 degrees).
  2. Thin film, multilayer & nanostructure deposition, and characterization:
    1. RF & DC magnetron reactive off-axis deposition system (RF magnetron 600 W, DC magnetron 1kW) equipped with three 1- and 2-inch magnetron sources and an oscillating substrate heater (up to 800 C);
    2. 12 kW rotating anode x-ray diffractometer (Rigaku) equipped with low and high temperature attachments (70 - 2000 K).
  3. Oxygen isotope exchange system.
      These facilities are also available for use, through collaborations, by the external users. If you would like to know more please contact me or Dr K.H.Chow (email:khchow@ualberta.ca).
