Dr. Jong Min Lee's research group at the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering of the University of Alberta is mainly focused on developing novel methodologies and tools for (1) improving the economic performances of integrated chemical processes and (2) characterizing biological processes.
In particular, our areas of research are Advanced Process Control, Plant-wide Dynamic Optimization, and Systems Biology. The theories and tools we are working on include model predictive control, approximate dynamic programming, linear programming, statistical learning, and artificial intelligence.
