View MessagesWhat is the Inclusion List?Inclusion-L is an electronic mail network on the topic of Inclusive Education. It is for parents, educators, researchers, and other individuals who are interested in inclusive education and would like to discuss and share ideas and materials. The list began in January, 1997. Can I belong? To belong to the Inclusion List a person must have access to an electronic mailing address with a gateway to the Internet. This includes users of Internet, America On-Line, Compuserve, and most other similar networks. Currently invitations are being sent to researchers, parents, educators, parents, and others interested in this topic.
What does it cost? There is no charge for belonging to the Inclusion List. The service is provided for free. If you pay a charge to your network for electronic mail received or sent, those charges will depend on use.
How do I join?To join, you must send an e-mail message to: majordomo@majordomo.srv.ualberta.ca and in the body of the message type the following two words only subscribe inclusion Leave the subject heading of your e-mail message blank. The listserver will acknowledge your message. If you have any difficulty contact lorraine.macpherson@ualberta.ca
How can I participate?Once on the list you will receive mail from other list members on conferences, books, news, research, and teaching strategies related to the topic of inclusive education. You can also post messages to the list at any time and messages posted to the list will go to all list members. Once subscribed, if you want to send a message, simply address it to: inclusion@majordomo.srv.ualberta.ca The listserver automatically will post it to all list members. The list will provide the most up to the minute information vial e-mail. It posts individual messages to subscribers as soon as possible after they are received. It's ideal for people who want the most current information or the opportunity to participate in discussion as it unfolds.
Inclusion-DigestInclusion-Digest provides the same information at less frequent intervals. Messages are stored and electronically posted to digest subscribers at varying intervals, depending on the number of messages and urgency of the material received. Usually these intervals will be once a week. Each digest issue includes all the individual messages since the previous digest issue collated intoa single e-mail message. To subscribe to Inclsuion-Digest you must send an e-mail message to: inclusion@majordomo.srv.ualberta.ca and in the body of the message type the following three words ONLY subscribe inclusion-digest Leave the subject heading of your e-mail message blank. The listserver will acknowledge your message. This allows the downloading of more extensive documents (e.g., grant reports and conference presentations) on this topic directly to your computer. You will also be able to place your documents on this server to allow access to others.
