This series features weekly talks given by students, postdocs, and faculty from our department and occassionally by visiting speakers. These talks are geared toward a graduate student audience and are meant to be accessible to experimentalists and theorists in all condensed matter sub-disciplines. Lots of time is set aside for discussion, and the audience is encouraged to interrupt the speaker as necessary.
The CMP seminar is an opportunity for students and postdocs to learn about condended matter physics outside of their own narrow research area. And for those willing to give a talk, it's a great chance to practice explaining their work to a knowlegeable but not necessarily specialized audience. If you'd like to volunteer, please .
