Both and raised in Edson Alberta eldest son of John and Hazel Switzer. I have three sisters and three brothers, all younger than I. My grandfather Harvey A. Switzer moved to Alberta from Ontario in 1911 to practice Pharmacy. After two trips on foot to Grande Prairie from Edson he decided to establish is Drug Store at Edson in 1912. The Drug Store business is now owned by my brother Harold and has now been owned by three generations of Switzers.

I am married to Barbara Bradshaw a native of Edmonton, we have three children; Brandy (1975-11-25), Kelsey (1978-03-19) , and Jeremy (1981-06-03). For our 19th anniversary in 1993 the children gave us a portrait of themselves.

Brandy has completed two years at Grant MacEwan Community College in the B.Sc. Nursing transfer program. Brandy now works as an RN the University of Alberta Hospital in Pediatric Cardiology.

Kelsey is in grade 12 at Archbishop MacDonald High School. Kelsey has completed three years of the Physical Education program and 2.5 years of Physiotherapy at the University of Alberta.

Jeremy has completed 2 years of the Science transfer program at Grant MacEwan Community College. This year Jeremy is working toward being accepted into the Pharmacy program at the University of Alberta by working a Pharmacy technician at Save On Foods on Kingsway.
