Krishnaswamy Nandakumar: PDF & Graduate Opportunities

If you are exceptionally strong in mathematics, fluid mechanics and computer programming, with a recent PhD from a recognized university you can e-mail your resume with a statement of research interests for possible recruitment as a post-doctoral fellow in our group for working in computational fluid dynamics. The area of specialization must be in multiphase flow and/or Laser Doppler measurements. The salary will be at current prevailing NSERC rate. The appointment can be for up to two years.

Specific projects available for MSc & PhD students starting in Sept 03

Fundamental development work: [w/ Prof. Minev]

  1. Development of parallel algorithms for direct simulation  of multiphase flow.
  2. Extending fictitious domain methods to non-Newtonian fluids.
  3. Study of physics of deformable bubbles/droplets in the presence of surfactants.

Applied research:

  1. CFD modelling of SOFC [ w/KTC]
