Background

This year is the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Theoretical Physics Institute at the University of Alberta, which is one of the oldest such institutions in Canada. We are planning a celebration Thursday and Friday, Sept. 16-17, 2010. We are having Lawrence Krauss (organized by the Physics Graduate Student Association), Werner Israel, David Mermin, Leonard Susskind as distinguished guest lecturers. We would like to invite you to participate in our celebration.

The banquet will be start at 6:30 (cash bar) and 7:00 (dinner) on Thursday evening, September 16th at the Faculty Club, in the Winspear Room

Food options are baked filet of salmon, prime rib of beef, or vegetarian.
The cost is $35 per person, except $20 for graduate students.
