School of Library and Information Studies

The School of Library and Information Studies at the University of Alberta is in the Rutherford South building.

The School of Library and Information Studies at the University of Alberta is situated in the Rutherford South Library building on the university campus. The School is accredited by the American Library Association (ALA) and there are currently about 100 full and part time students registered in the Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) program.

The school's facilities include several classrooms, a student lounge, study hall, and computer lab.

Courses offered in the MLIS program include a wide range of subjects, including: children/youth services, technology, knowledge organization, management, critical issues, and materials. For more information about the courses offered, please visit the courses page of the SLIS web site.

In addition to course work, students at SLIS are active in the library community and participate in many committees and extracurricular activities.
