Welcome to the Lets Talk Science partnership Program at the University of Alberta!

»The University of Alberta Let’s Talk Science Partnership Program is one part of the national science outreach program known as Lets Talk Science. The U of A Partnership Program is a unique one-on-one partnership between University scientists and classroom teachers from the Edmonton area. Volunteers and teachers are paired early in the school year and discuss ideas throughout the year, tailoring activities and presentations to fit the particular needs and goals of a particular classroom. Volunteers typically visit a classroom 2-3 times throughout the year.

»This web site is brand new. It's meant to make our program more accessible. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer you can find some information here. Interested teachers can find more information here. We welcome feedback concerning the new site as we get it up and running.

New Let's Talk Science EXECUTIVE position open

Fundraising consultant position available with the University of Alberta Let's Talk Science Partnership Program

Join a national network and on-campus group of students working together to make a difference in the science literacy of young Canadians! This volunteer position is highly rewarding and comes with many benefits. You will be responsible for leading the fundraising drive for the program. Tasks will include preparing a short brief and letter, and arranging meetings with university administrators. You will be part of a dynamic team and it will be your chance to acquire experience in fundraising while making a difference on campus.

The ideal candidate will:
-Have experience or interest in fundraising
-Have strong oral and written communication skills
-Be able to dedicate 10 hours to prepare the necessary documents and 1/2 hour a week to follow-up.

This is a volunteer position but may lead to an honorarium position if the fundraising drive is successful.
