Project Overview
This population-based trial is currently comparing various feasible, sustainable and cost-effective strategies (e.g., telephone counselling, pedometers, print-based materials) to encourage people with type 2 diabetes to exercise in a 12-month, 3 arm population-based trial with a 6-month follow-up. Assessments include cognitive, behavioural and clinical outcomes. Ultimately, this study will guide health workers planning large-scale programs for the treatment of type 2 diabetes in Canada.
