Project Overview
This pilot study examined the feasibility and preliminary efficacy of an internet based counselling intervention on physical activity behaviour in individuals with type 2 diabetes (T2DM). The experimental group received: a) access to study website that posted weekly messages, b) counseling via email, and c) website links to the Canadian Diabetes Association’s physical activity guidelines and Health Canada’s Physical Activity Guide while the control group will receive only the website links.

The results will show us if the internet and email are realistic and effective ways to help T2DM individuals to change their physical activity behaviours. The results will also provide health care workers and agencies with an alternative method of delivering health information to people who, otherwise, might not have access to such services.
