The University of Alberta kicks off its centenary celebrations with an international flavour – International Week brings the world to our campus in the form of song, words and powerful ideas from world-leading academics and activists.

This year University of Alberta International held its first-ever International Week photography contest. Staff members at the International Centre waded through a staggering 1,200 entries from U of A students, and asked each to send in a statement about what travel means to them.

“There were tons of beautiful entries,” said Eilis Pourbaix, global education co-ordinator with U of A International. The top 10 photos, taken by Gemma Armstrong, Reza Banaei Khosroushahi, Jenny Frogner, Marina Ivanova, Aaron Lee, Brandon Mewhort, Jorge Perez, Jen Richards, Shannon White, are on display during International Week at the International Centre, on the ground level of HUB Mall.

We’re unable to do them all justice on this page; please visit the exhibit and attend as many International Week events as you can. Details can be found online, under the ‘Quick Links’ heading at: www.international.ualberta.ca
