From 1998 to 2001 I was involved with the Autonomous Robotic Vehicle Project (ARVP) student group. Each year the group competes against approximately 20 universities from Canada, the US and Japan at the Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition. Each year the competition events vary slightly, but always involve outdoor high-level tasks such as obstacle avoidance and vehicle pursuit. The U of A team has been quite successful over the years, earning 2nd place finishes in design in 1999, 2000, 2002 and 1st in the GPS challenge in 2001. Below are some of the various photos accumulated over the years.
