My Favorite Movies of the 1990s

Comment: Most of what I wrote prefacing my list of favorite 1980s movies applies here as well. The list is totally subjective, and as usual, despite having seen many movies, there always remains a large number of critically acclaimed movies I missed.

My records indicate I saw at least 648 movies between 1990 and 1999. Despite best efforts, I estimate forgot to record anywhere between 10 and 30 other movies I saw.

As I reviewed the ten lists, what was really frightening was that many of the titles didn't ring a bell. I had to refer to other sources to remind me what it was I saw. Thank God for the Internet Movie Database.

Also of note is that I didn't see all of these films the year they were released; a film I chose as a favorite of 1993 might have been released in 1992. This always happens to films released in late December in NYC, LA and Toronto and nowhere else until the new year begins.

So the list begins is of my favorite films of the 1990s, by the year in which I saw the films.
