Chad Witcher, Doctoral Student

Hi. My research interests are primarily related to health and well-being in later life, and the promotion of physical activity among older adults in rural communities. In September 2005, I began doctoral studies here in the Faculty of Physical Education and Recreation at the U of A. In the summer of 2005, I completed my Master's degree which explored the nature of physical activity participation among older adults in rural Fogo Island , Newfoundland & Labrador and will now pursue this line of research further for my doctoral work. Specifically, I will now develop a grounded theory of physical activity promotion to be used to guide future interventions targeting older adults in the province of Newfoundland & Labrador .
