Internet Use in
Canadian Schools

Susan
Elaine Gibson is an Associate Professor in
the Department of Elementary Education at the
University of Alberta. Her area of specialization is
social studies curriculum and instruction. Dr.
Gibsons current research interests include: the
integration of technology in social studies, using
Internet search strategies to enhance information
literacy, and the role of technology in teacher
education.

- Dianne Oberg is Professor and Chair of the
Department of Elementary Education at the
University of Alberta. Her area of
specialization is school librarianship. Dr.
Oberg's current research interests include:
the role of the principal in program
implementation, the use of the Internet in
Canadian schools, and inquiry-based learning.
She is the editor of the international
refereed journal, School Libraries
