Email: weihua.w.li@shell.com Personal Details: Weihua Li was born in October, 1963, in Wuxue city, Hubei Province, China. He got his B.S. in Control Engineering from the Department of Automation, South China University of Technology, Guangzhou, China, in July, 1982; M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Nanchang University in July, 1988, and his Ph.D. in Process Control from the Department of Automation, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in June, 1994. Research: Since June, 1999, he had been working with Dr. Shah first as a research fellow then as a research manager in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering, University of Alberta, Canada, until August 2006. His research and application interests mainly focus on process monitoring, fault detection and diagnosis, system identification for diagnosis, and multivariate statistical process control. He has published more than 20 research articles in peer-reviewed journals, including Automatica, Control Engineering Practice, Journal of Process Control, AIChE Journal, International Journal of Control, and etc. He also has presented the similar number of papers in many conferences. In September 2006, Weihua Li joined Shell Global Solutions Inc., in Houston, Texas, USA, as a Process Monitoring Technology Development Engineer. Currently, he is enjoying in applying his earlier developed methodological approaches in process monitoring and fault diagnosis to resolve the real industrial issues.
