| The Steadward
Centre
for Personal & Physical Achievement
Started
as an initiative between The Steadward Centre (then Rick Hansen
Centre), the Alberta Northern Lights Wheelchair Basketball Society, and
Edmonton Catholic Schools, the Leigh McMillan Fitness Centre
officially opened its doors in April of 1993.
The centre is named after Leigh McMillan, a longtime
teacher at Austin O’Brien High
School. The LMFC was developed as an effort to provide individuals
with physical disabilities an opportunity to become involved in an
active lifestyle.
Clients of The
Steadward Centre and students and staff of Austin O’Brien,
all use the facility. Please visit our AOB Satellite Photo
