The

for Personal & Physical Achievement
Neil Pierce has worked within the rehabilitation and
disability field for the past 20 years. He currently serves as the
Chief Executive Officer of The Canadian Paraplegic Association
(Alberta) and Executive Director of The Alberta Paraplegic Foundation.
Prior to this, Mr Pierce started his career with the Workers'
Compensation Board of Ontario in a variety of positions which included
Vocational Rehabilitation Counselling, Staff Training, Supervision and
Management. He later moved to the Northwest Territories to develop and
manage a rehabilitation program with the Workers' Compensation Board
before moving to Edmonton to assume a position with the Canadian
Paraplegic Association (Alberta).
Mr Pierce earned a BA in Sociology from the University of New
Brunswick and a BEd from the University of Windsor. He has been an
active volunteer throughout his career which includes; Past President
of the Canadian Association for Vocational Evaluation and Work
Adjustment, Past Secretary / Treasurer of The Canadian Association for
Research in Rehabilitation, Past Advisory Member
of The Alberta Centre for Injury Control and Research, Past Secretary
of The Alberta Neurotrauma Initiative and current leader of the
Champions of Workplace Diversity Initiative in Calgary which is a
Consortium of cross disability organizations who have established an
integrated Employment and Career Resources Centre.
