Long Term Program Flyer
Long-term programs at The Steadward Centre offer an opportunity for
individuals to participate in a specific exercise program on a consistent
basis. New members are assessed and provided with a program designed to meet
their needs and goals before beginning a scheduled workout.

Adult Fitness & Lifestyle Program
The Adult Fitness & Lifestyle Program (AFLP) provides structured exercise
programs for people with a permanent physical disability.
Instructors provide a customized training program and assistance in
monitoring a regular exercise routine. One program goal is to help participants
learn new skills that can be transferred to any community program.
Days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday
Time: 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Stretch & Tone
Stretch & Tone is designed to provide individuals with Multiple Sclerosis
a group fitness program specifically suiting their needs.
Exercise programs are individually designed and include a variety of light
resistance training, aerobic fitness exercises and customized stretching
regimes, used to maintain or improve fitness levels.
Days: Tuesday and Thursday
Time: 10:00 am - 11:30 am
11:30 am - 1:00 pm
Youth Activation
An evening activity program for youth with a disability between the ages of
12 and 18. This twice weekly program consists of one structured exercise session
and one sport and recreation session. Youth Activation provides a balance
between healthy physical activity and gaining exposure to a variety of sporting
activities.
Youth Activation is held at our University of Alberta facility.
Days: Monday and Thursday
Time: 6:30 - 8:00 pm
SCITCS FES Clinic
The Steadward Centre, with generous support from the Spinal Cord Injury
Treatment Centre Society (SCITCS), provides Functional Electrical Stimulation
(FES) assisted training opportunities for individuals with paralysis.
SCITCS FES Clinic offers supervised training and customized programs
developed for FES Assisted Leg Training, ERGYS2 Stationary Cycling, and FES
Assisted Rowing
Days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday
or Tuesday and Thursday
Time: MWF 10:00 am - 7:00 pm
TR 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Fees for the FES Clinic are structured on a cost per session basis. Please

Satellite Centres
Austin O'Brien and St. Joseph High Schools are partners with The Steadward
Centre, expanding programming into the community.
In addition to working with our members, TSC Staff provide a resource for the
school's students, faculty, sports teams, and students with a disability.
Both Satellite Centres offer the Adult Lifestyle & Fitness and Stretch
& Tone programs.

Program Cost
The cost of the long term programs are as follows:
Registration Fee $50.00
Program Fee $50.00 / 6 months
The registration fee includes a tour, fitness assessment, and program design.
Registered members receive discounts on other programs and services offered
through The Steadward Centre.
The Program Fee covers six months of activity in one of the long term
program.
