The 2012-13 Student Travel Award Competition
The International Cultural Neuroscience Consortium (ICNC) is pleased to announce the 2012-13 Student Travel Award Competition.  Up to 10 stipends in the amount of $500 will be awarded to graduate students for travel to present cultural neuroscience research at the 9th annual Cultural Psychology Preconference prior to the SPSP conference in New Orleans, LA, on January 17, 2013.

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Applicants must be members of the ICNC and have paid their SPSP membership dues for 2013.
  2. Applicants must have a poster or symposium paper submitted to the 2013 Cultural Psychology Preconference Committee (250 words submitted to adamcohen@asu.edu by December 1, 2012).
  3. Applicants must be the first or sole author of the submitted conference submission.
  4. Applicants must be enrolled in graduate school at the time of the conference. Work that was executed while an individual was in graduate school but would be presented post-graduation is ineligible for consideration.
Application Procedure and Deadline To be considered for a travel award, the following materials must be submitted:
  1. A brief statement (250 words or less) indicating the relevance of the travel award for furthering the researcher’s prior and future work in cultural neuroscience
  2. A copy of the poster or symposium abstract that was submitted to the program committee.
  3. A copy of the Cultural Psychology Preconference acceptance notification from the Program Committee.

Decision Process and Notification Award decisions will be based on the excellence of the submitted conference abstract and on the strength of the applicant's scholarly record, as judged by the 2013 ICNC Student Travel Award Committee. Efforts will be made to insure representation from diverse institutions and geographical areas. Winners will be notified by email no later than December 15, 2012.
