Appointments
Should you be a student who chooses to access
our services, we would like to remind you of the following policies regarding
appointments:
 |
We offer a limit of 12 sessions per
year (September 1st - August 31st). |
 |
New clients who no show or late cancel for their initial
appointment must first come in on intake (once) before having access
to regular sessions. A "late cancellation" is defined
as canceling the same day as the appointment date. If the appointment
is scheduled at 9:00 a.m. or 10:00 a.m., cancellations should occur
prior to 3:00 p.m. the previous working day. |
 |
More than one no show or two late cancellations will
require you to pay an administrative fee of $25.00 (cash only) in
order to regain access to counselling sessions, including intake
appointments. |
 |
No shows and late cancellations will be counted towards
the 12-session limit. |
 |
If you arrive more than 15 minutes late for a scheduled
appointment, you might not be seen for the remainder of the hour.
In any event, the session will also be considered a "no show". |
 |
For the consideration of staff and other clients,
if you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment we request
that you please call our office or drop by to cancel it. Services
at SCS are very high in demand and doing so will enable us to book
a client into that available slot. |
Confidentiality
In accordance with the Psychology Professions
Act, we adhere to a strict policy of maintaining confidentiality regarding
your involvement in counselling. Certain limited circumstances may require
exceptions to this policy. These circumstances are as follows:
 |
Ongoing abuse or neglect of a minor. |
 |
Serious risk of suicide or harm for you or other individuals. |
 |
Subpoena of file by a court of law. |
 |
