CNS has special discounted site licences for the following software products from Borland. These products, available at the Help Desk in 302 Gen Serv, are available to University of Alberta faculty and staff only and payment must be through a University indent.

C++ Builder Standard

This product for Windows 95/NT is a powerful, feature-rich, and fully integrated C++ development environment. C++ Builder Standard combines productive integrated visual tools with its proven compiler and low level debugging for building Internet, database, and distributed applications. Visual Form Inheritance reduces coding and simplifies maintenance, and the Visual Component Library contains over 100 customizable components. Wizards guide you through component and database building and customizing. C++ Builder includes data-aware components, Database Explorer, and QuickReports.

C++ Builder Standard costs $50, plus an annual renewal fee of $25.

C++ Builder Professional

C++ Builder Professional for Windows 95/NT includes all of the features listed for C++ Builder Standard, and more. It also includes the VCL source code and manual to develop and customize components, Scalable Dictionary for data integrity, and complete ODBC connectivity. There are advanced data-aware components, including MultiObject Grid. C++ Builder Professional also has InstallShield Express, Open Tools API, the Internet Solutions Pack, and full ActiveX support.

C++ Builder Professional costs $50, plus an annual renewal fee of $25.

C++ Development Suite 5.02

C++ Development Suite for DOS and Windows 3.1/95/NT is a collection of development tools for C++. It includes C++ 5.0, CodeGuard to detect and diagnose bugs in both 16-bit and 32-bit applications, and InstallShield Express. AppAccelerator for Java increases Java applet and application performance. ObjectScripting makes integrating tools and custom experts easy.

C++ Development Suite comes with the ANSI/ISO Standard C++ Library, which includes STL. PVCS Version Manager seamlessly integrates version control, and Visual Database Tools enable you to add database functionality quickly.

C++ Development Suite 5.02 costs $50, plus an annual renewal fee of $25.

Turbo C++ Visual

C++ Visual for Windows 3.x is a complete set of tools to design user interface resources, generate code, and browse C++ classes. It includes C and C++, C and C++ code generation and regeneration, and numerous templates. Turbo C++ Visual also contains an Object-Windows Library and Object-Browser.

Turbo C++ Visual costs $40, plus an annual renewal fee of $25.

Pascal with Objects 7

Pascal 7.0 for DOS includes a fast compiler, an easy-to-use IDE, and Object Browser with cross-reference. You also get Turbo Debugger, Turbo Profiler, and Turbo Vision (the DOS application environment with a library of objects).

Pascal with Objects 7 costs $50, plus an annual renewal fee of $25.

Turbo Pascal

Turbo Pascal for Windows 3.x provides a fast way to develop applications for Windows 3.1. It has full support for Windows 3.1 features, including OLE multimedia and TrueType fonts. The compiler can deal with more than 85,000 lines per minute, and Windows IDE lets you edit, compile, and run programs within Windows. Object-Windows is included for fast Windows development, Resource Workshop lets you visually create resources like dialogs, menus, and icons. Turbo Pascal also includes Turbo Debugger for Windows and Turbo Help to answer all your questions. Turbo Pascal includes DDE facilities, a Windows CRT unit, and a built-in assembler.

Turbo Assembler

Turbo Assembler significantly speeds up assembly, with assembly speeds of up to 48,000 lines per minute. It has full Intel chip support, from 8086 to Pentium. It supports C, C++, Pascal, Fortran, and COBOL interfaces. Turbo Assembler includes Turbo Debugger and Turbo Linker (16-bit and 32-bit).

Turbo Assembler costs $35, plus an annual renewal fee of $25.

JBuilder Professional

JBuilder is a scalable visual Java development tool for Windows 3.1 that lets you create cross-platform, web-delivered client/server applications.

IntraBuilder Professional

IntraBuilder for Windows 95/NT is a toolset that simplifies the creation and maintenance of data-driven Intranet applications on your web server. IntraBuilder makes data in different database formats on different platforms accessible to anyone with a web browser. It lets you incorporate JavaScript, Java applets or ActiveX components into applications.

IntraBuilder Professional costs $50, plus an annual renewal fee of $25.

Delphi 4 Professional

Delphi 4 Professional for Windows 95 is a set of visual client/server development tools for creating distributed enterprise and web-enabled applications. Delphi is fully object-oriented, with fast build speeds and good application performance.

Visual dBase 7 Professional

Visual dBase 7 Professional for Windows 95/NT is a visual data-base development environment, incorporating proven development tools, the Visual dBase Compiler, and new data processing and analysis tools. Visual dBase has data dictionary capabilities and a centralized project interface. It includes an integrated Report Writer, Project Explorer, Visual SQL Builder, plus Data Modules, Object Containers, DBF file format, Data Connectivity, and more.
