Location: Where is the VLS?
Two Locations
The VLS operates in two favourable locations in western Canada--the beautiful provincial capitals of Alberta and British Columbia. Started in the lovely island town of Victoria, BC, the VLS continues to function in a lab on the campus of the University of Victoria. As many VLS veterans and participants know, the VLS data collection lab recently moved from the venerable L-Hut location to a brand new and well-appointed lab in Cornett building on the UVic campus.
VLS Headquarters
Since 2002, the overall research, administrative, and lab headquarters of the VLS have been located in the city of Edmonton, AB, in a new lab on the campus of the University of Alberta. Edmonton is a beautiful, cosmopolitan city of over 1 million inhabitants. The UofA is one of the premier research intensive universities in Canada. Many new opportunities for the VLS are available in this dynamic and exciting context.
