Hey guys, Charlie here! The World Relief Student Club's Website is now renovated to give a new University of Alberta feeling. I hope you guys enjoy it! This new website will hopefully be more userfriendly and represent a good start to a new academic year for the WRSC. I will try to update this site as frequently as possible to ensure that everyone has all the correct information. See you at the next meeting! If you have any suggestions or improvements , feel free to contact me at charliet@ualberta.ca.

[19.09.2008) Friday Sept. 19th WRSC Orientation Meeting

Welcome to all the new members of the World Relief Student Club! I hope we will have a fun and productive time in this 2008-2009 academic year. Not only did we get to know one another; but, in this meeting, we also discussed possible directions we wanted for the 2008-2009 WRSC. We brainstormed many fundraising events, potential sponsors for the ever-popular raffle draw, the projects 2008-2009 WRSC plans to support, and public awareness. Please contact Charlie Tang for this meeting's minutes.

Jolie, Pitt donate
$2 million for kids in Ethiopia

"LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Angelina Jolie and partner Brad Pitt have donated $2 million to create a center, named after their adopted daughter, Zahara, for Ethiopian children affected by AIDS and tuberculosis.

The Global Health Committee said the donation from the Jolie-Pitt Foundation would establish a center in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa to treat AIDS orphans and develop a program to treat drug-resistant tuberculosis.

They helped set up a similar clinic in 2006 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia that is named after Maddox.

"Our goal is to transfer the success we have had in Cambodia to Ethiopia where people are needlessly dying of tuberculosis, a curable disease, and HIV/AIDS, a treatable disease," Jolie said."
