The VSCP is about more than just academics! Our staff and student coordinators plan lots of events and cultural activities throughout the year so VSCP students have the opportunity to experience all that the University, the city of Edmonton, and the province of Alberta has to offer.
There are always fun things to do on campus, and the VSCP organizes opportunities for students to join the events as a group. From the Campus Cup to movie nights, arts and crafts, board game nights, as well as sports activities such as rock climbing at the Wilson Climbing Center, there are activities for everyone! Also participate in seasonal cultural events such as pumpkin carving for Halloween, barbecuing outdoors, or winter sledding.
Visit the Art Gallery of Alberta, take a tour of Old Strathcona, a shopping and dining district, or go skating at the world-famous West Edmonton Mall. Our coordinators will help you get to know your new surroundings by organizing trips around the city so you can enjoy life as a local!
Out-of-Town and Overnight Trips
No trip to Alberta would be complete without a visit to the Canadian Rocky Mountains. VSCP students will have opportunities to join other international students on trips to Banff and Jasper National Parks, where they will experience the natural beauty of the mountains, lakes, and maybe even see some wildlife!
In addition to trips to the Rockies, VSCP also organizes trips to other areas of Alberta, such as Drumheller, Calgary, and Elk Island National Park.
