VSCP students will stay in either UAlberta residences or with a homestay program. Students can choose to stay in many different residences, which are home to both Canadian and international students.

Homestays place students with a local family in their home, where students will experience Canadian home life.

Homestay Features

  • Host families provide a private, furnished bedroom.
  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner, seven days a week, is included and provided by the host family
  • Convenient location: homes are on bus routes to the University of Alberta (normally a maximum of a 45-minute transit trip from the University).

HUB is a unique residence located in the campus shopping mall.

Who Lives Here: Upper-year undergraduate and graduate students.

Unit Types: Furnished and unfurnished studio and 1 bedroom apartments, and 2 or 4 bedroom shared apartments (common kitchen, living room and bathroom). Studio and 1 bedroom units are reserved for students in their third year and up.

Lease Type: Studio and 1 bedroom apartments are available on month-to-month leases. 2 & 4 bedroom units are rented based on contract terms coinciding with the academic year (8 month contracts for Fall/Winter and 2-4 month contracts for Spring/Summer).

Lease Type: Term leases matching academic term schedule (8 month Sept-April). Spring/Summer housing also available.

Applying: Selection is based on interest in contributing to global experience; applicants must respond to additional questions when submitting a housing application.

Located in East Campus Village, Tamarack and Pinecrest Houses are home to upper-year undergraduate students.

Who Lives Here: Upper-year undergraduate students.

Unit Types: Furnished 2 bedroom (Pinecrest Floor Plan | Tamarack Floor Plan | 360° Panorama)
and 4 bedroom (Floor Plan | 360° Panorama) apartments (bedrooms rented individually).

Lease Types: Annual term lease ending on July 31 of each year (the first lease is 11 months in length and renewals are 12 months).
