Scholastic Distinction Scholarships are among the most valuable and prestigious entrance scholarships awarded by the University of Alberta, recognizing the top academic students from across Canada and around the world. Up to 5 of these scholarships are awarded each year to transfer students.

Eligibility
Candidates must meet all of the following criteria:
- Achieve an average of approximately 95% or above in high school (competitive averages vary by faculty)
- Maintain a similar level of excellence at the post-secondary level (competitive GPAs vary by faculty)
- Be entering one of the following faculties:
- Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences
- Arts
- Business
- Campus Saint-Jean
- Education
- Engineering
- Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation
- Native Studies
- Nursing
- Science

Notification and acceptance
Successful applicants will be notified in May. If you are offered this award, the My Awards section of Bear Tracks will be updated and you will receive an email notification.

About this award
Scholastic Distinction Scholarships are funded by the University of Alberta, our faculties, and our donors. As an applicant, you only need to apply to the scholarship competition; you will then be assessed for your eligibility for individual awards. Should you receive an offer, the specific awards you receive will be posted in Bear Tracks.
