Schulich Leaders


Anoushka is a 2018 recipient of the Schulich Leader Scholarship for Science, valued at $80,000. An aspiring astrophysicist, Gillian earned her pilot's science in the summer of 2017. Her interest in cosmic evolution will soar to new heights as she enters her first year in the Faculty of Science at the U of A.

Gillian is a 2018 recipient of the Schulich Leader Scholarship for Engineering, valued at $100,000. Gillian is committed to challenging worldwide injustices, leading her to co-found Step Forward, her high school's female empowerment committee. Her drive to solve real-world problems will continue as she enters the Faculty of Engineering at the U of A.

Natasha is a 2017 recipient of the Schulich Leader Scholarship for Sciences, valued at $80,000. After moving to Canada from Zimbabwe, Natasha has continued to challenge boundaries in all that she does. She is excited to continue her passion for scientific inquiry as she begins her first year in Sciences at the U of A.

Sean is a 2017 recipient of the Schulich Leader Scholarship for Engineering, valued at $100,000. Summers on the farm sparked Sean’s connection to the environment, leading him to implement a school-wide composting system at his high school in Lethbridge. He will further his passion for environmental sustainability in his first year of Engineering at the U of A.

Ben is a 2016 recipient of the Schulich Leader Scholarship for Engineering, valued at $80,000. Ben graduated from Strathcona High School in Edmonton and entered Engineering at the U of A, where he plans on pursuing a specialization in Biomedical Engineering.


Sheldon is a 2016 recipient of the Schulich Leader Scholarship for Science, valued at $60,000. Sheldon is from Kindersley, Sask., and entered the Bachelor of Science program at the University of Alberta.
